The Guernsey Velo Club Womens Mountain Bike race series is a 7 race series open only to women. You do not have to be a Velo club member, and you do not need to have any previous racing experience and you don't have to enter the whole series. The only requirements to race are a mountain bike and a helmet.


There are seven races taking place on the following dates:


10th May (Enduro) - Timed downhill runs on multiple stages at the Guet. 

17th May XC - Offroad Circuit Race - Thorntons (TBC)

28th June XC - Offroad Circuit Race - Lancresse Common

30th July evening crit - Short Course off road circuit race (TBC)

13th Aug evening crit- Short Course off road circuit race Delancey Park 

2xCX TBC - Cyclocross race 

All races whilst offroad will have "B" Lines on the technical sections and should be rideable by all riders of all abilities 


Race entry is £5 per race or £15 for the remainder of the series, if you only want to enter 1 race you can, you don't have to commit to the whole series. You can even pay on the day (but please complete the race entry on the website)


This will be a friendly, welcoming and inclusive race series with categories for all abilities and offer a perfect environment for anybody wishing to try mountain bike racing for the first time, but also offer some competitive & fun racing as well. 


Categories

Racing - for competitive riders, You may have raced before or have been competitive in triathlon or other sports. You should have a fairly good level of fitness

Sport - for fitness enthusiasts who have some experience riding bikes but may not have raced or would like to try racing for the first time but who's goal is to try a new sport. 

Challenge - for anybody new to cycling or who just wants to enjoy the social aspect of riding in a group and completing the races in the series. 


Bikes

Any road bike with either drop handlebars or flat bars and road tires - Mountain bikes are allowed in the challenge category only.


Race Times

Weekend Races generally start around 9am 

Evening Races will start at 6.30pm
