Isle of Lewis Gymnastics Club — Gymnastics in Stornoway

About Isle of Lewis Gymnastics Club

Isle of Lewis Gymnastics Club is a community-oriented gymnastics organisation offering recreational and competitive opportunities for children, teens and adults. The club supports artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, tumbling, preschool movement classes and developmental sessions that focus on balance, coordination and strength. With a close-knit membership base and multiple squads, the club prioritises safe coaching, progressive skill development and enjoyment for all abilities.

Our Activities and Programmes

Training sessions include beginner programmes, performance squads and competition preparation. Coaches follow structured lesson plans tailored to age and ability, and the club regularly organises local events, grading days and community showcases. Sessions aim to build confidence, discipline and teamwork while giving committed athletes a pathway into regional competitions. The club also offers adult gymnastics and drop-in family sessions to encourage wider participation.

Membership and Teams

The club is a modest but active organisation with more than fifty members spread across about a dozen teams, ranging from recreational groups to competitive squads. This scale allows for personalised coaching, strong relationships between coaches and gymnasts, and a supportive training environment. Volunteers and parents also play a vital role in event organisation and club administration.
