Girls U12's Wildcats - Leafield Lasers

Wildcats continued our tour of the West Midlands with our sixth consecutive away match! Looking forward to a return to home next weekend. After a late change of opposition we faced an impressive Leafield Lasers team.
Leafield started strongly, pinned us back and led at half time - not a great first half from us but the smell of bacon from the food van spurred us on. đĽ
We started the second half much better. More pressure, quicker to every ball and better passing. Hattie and Brooke in particular winning the ball back a number of times. A brilliant through ball from Maisie cut through the Leafield defence and found Rosie who finished really well into the bottom corner! â˝ď¸
With 10 minutes to play we trailed by 2 goals but were still in the game. Emily had a great chance with a shot inside the box but the keeper saved well.
We fell apart a bit in the last 10 minutes as Leafield scored some rapid fire goals - 2 from the penalty spot.
We were denied a penalty of our own at the end - the Leafield defender blocking Hattieâs cross into the box with her hand. VAR!
Player of the match Hollie - trying out âsweeper-keeperâ in the first half. A couple of good saves and brilliant defending again in the second half.
