Girls U16’s - Coundon Court

We went with just 11 players so no substitutes. 

The game started at a great pace and very evenly. After 15 minutes we had a throw deep in the opposition half, Amy took it,a good throw almost to the penalty spot. The ball was scrambled away and as it broke out of the penalty area Rosie hit a lovely low shot which the keeper managed to push wide. We played a lot of the half with 10 and some of it with 9 as Amy and Jess had to come off for different reasons. With just 2 minutes of the half left Coundon had a corner and a great header flew into our net. 1-0 down at half time. 

Both Amy and Jess went back on for the second half. Coundon came out fast and scored after just 5 minutes of the half to make it 2-0. Shortly after Amy took another long throw that was headed away to the side of the penalty area it bounced in front of Amy who connected nicely and looped the ball into the far corner to make it 2-1. 

After 60 minutes Coundon were awarded a penalty as the ball struck Nell on the leg and then hit her arm, very harsh. Evie was able to get a hand on the penalty but unfortunately was unable to prevent the goal. In the last minute Nell played a ball over and behind the opposition. With great pace Izzy latched onto the ball cut inside and finished nicely easily beating the keeper. 

A good competitive game but a 3-2 loss. 

Nell was parents player and Amy a well deserved managers player.
