Boys U14 (2012) Major - Arlington

COX AND CO. RUN RIOT AS NAAS CRUSH ARLINGTON IN NINE-GOAL THRILLER
Naas U14 Major lit up a sun-drenched Saturday morning with a performance that will be talked about all season — dismantling Arlington 9-0 in a ruthless display of attacking football.
It had been years since these two sides last met, and Naas weren’t quite sure what to expect. But any doubts were quickly blown away.
After a flurry of early chances, it was Ben Cox who broke the deadlock, pouncing inside the box after a deflection wrong-footed the Arlington defence. From that moment on, Naas were in cruise control.
The second came from the left wing — Cox dazzling defenders with some slick footwork before squaring perfectly for Liam Patchell to tap home. Two-nil, and Arlington were rocking.
But Cox wasn’t finished. Oh no. Moments later, he shimmied past two, cut inside on his right, and buried the ball past a helpless keeper. The Naas faithful roared — this was a man-of-the-match masterclass in the making.
The onslaught continued. With just 16 minutes on the clock, Cox slid a defence-splitting pass into Daniel Shelley, who coolly guided the ball into the top corner. Four-nil. Game over.
Still, Naas weren’t done. Oscar Dolan added the fifth with an ice-cold finish into the bottom corner, leaving the visitors shell-shocked at half-time.
The second half? More of the same. Patchell’s strike was parried, but Cox — in the right place at the right time — nodded in his hat-trick. Six. Jake Dunbar converted from the spot for seven. Josh Richardson added number eight, courtesy of Patchell’s relentless pressing.
Then came the cherry on top. Jacob Abella, instrumental all game, unleashed a thunderbolt from 30 yards. It curled wickedly, kissed the bottom corner, and sparked wild celebrations. Nine-nil. A statement. A warning. Naas are here to dominate.
Arlington will want to forget it. Naas will want to replay it. And luckily, you can — all goals are on YouTube 👉
