Naas AFC, one of County Kildare's largest youth football clubs with nearly 1,000 members, announced today the development of a state-of-the-art 20,000-seater stadium at their Naas Sports Centre base on Caragh Road. Stadium Vision
Club officials revealed aerial mock-ups showing the stadium seamlessly integrated behind the K-Leisure swimming pool. Designed for senior and international matches, it aims to elevate Naas AFC's profile while serving community events. Construction is slated to begin pending planning approval and funding from sponsorships and grants.
Community Impact
With over 40 teams from age U5 to adults, the stadium addresses long-standing calls for enhanced facilities in Naas. Local leaders hailed it as a boost for youth sports and tourism in Kildare's county town. A spokesperson for the club stated: "This landmark development cements our role as the home of underage football in Naas."
A Club with Real Ambition
OK, this might be an April Fool prank, but the club really is ambitious to improve our facilities, which are largely unchanged for the past 25 years. We need to start somewhere, and so we are launching the fund for a new Pitch 1 Astro. This is a much-needed facility to eliminate weather-related cancelations and team waiting lists.
Quid Game Our Largest Ever Fundraiser
The club is running its largest ever fundraiser on April 25th in Lawlor’s Hotel. Based on the popular TV show, Squid Game, the event will see around 40 brave contestants compete on the night to take away the €10,000 cash prize. It promises to be a fun-filled evening and a huge celebration for our football community.
