Poole ladies team secure top 20 finish in season opener
Poole ladies team recently completed the Three Rivers Season Opener, a challenging six-mile race that marks the start of the Cornish pilot gig rowing season.
The race takes crews along the River Tamar before heading up to the mouth of the River Tavy, down to the River Lynher and back again beneath the Tamar Bridge.
The testing course attracts some of the strongest clubs from across the south west and is widely regarded as an early-season benchmark.
Competing in a large and highly competitive field, the Poole ladies produced a 'superb' row to finish sixteenth out of 93 crews, making them the top-placed club from Dorset on the day.
