Teams, training and community activities
The club runs regular training sessions during the season, hosts home fixtures and organises community events and coaching clinics. Youth development is a core priority, with qualified coaches working on skills, fitness and safe play. Oban Lorne also supports volunteering opportunities, fundraising initiatives and partnerships with local schools to grow the sport.
How we manage the club with SportMember
To run teams efficiently and keep members informed, Oban Lorne RFC uses SportMember as its primary club management platform. The software helps the committee and coaches coordinate fixtures, manage registrations, collect fees securely and communicate quickly with players and parents. SportMember’s tools streamline attendance recording at training and matches, simplify payments, and offer an easy-to-update online presence for fixtures and announcements.
- SportMember modules used: membership management, payment module, team communication, attendance tracking, and club website.
Why SportMember works for us
SportMember reduces administrative time, improves communication and provides transparency for members and trustees. Fixtures, training schedules and team lists are accessible on mobile and desktop, making it easier for volunteers to focus on coaching and community work rather than paperwork. The platform’s reporting and payment features also help with budgeting and compliance for a volunteer-run club.
Club statement
"SportMember has made organising our teams and communicating with members much simpler — we’re very happy with the software."
