South Devon Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club is a friendly community for pilots and enthusiasts who enjoy free-flight sports. We focus on hang gliding and paragliding, offering coaching, social flying, safety briefings and organised trips to local sites. Where we fly
Located near Exeter (EX2 7EE), on the scenic South Devon coast with easy access to moorland and coastal flying sites.
Activities and programmes
Our programme covers regular flying meets, structured training courses, tandem introductions, and seasonal cross-country days. We emphasise safety through certified coaching, pre-flight briefings and mentorship schemes. Equipment clinics and rigging workshops help pilots maintain gear and improve performance. Throughout the year the club hosts social events, site maintenance weekends and guest speaker evenings to enrich members’ understanding of meteorology, navigation and competition flying.
