Weekly Report - Super Saturday Looms….

Beaconsfield Rugby Football Club
20 Apr 2026

2nd XV Continue Their Push for Promotion:

The 2nd XV had a statement victory versus Chesham, winning 21-64. With one game remaining, we need to ensure at least one match point to guarantee winning the league. Having struggled only two seasons ago to field a regular 2nd XV, this really is a true transformation in our fortunes. For any club to be successful on the field they need strength in depth and the 2nd XV squad is as strong as it has ever been. Getting promoted to level 7 and regularly playing 1st XV teams from Buckingham, High Wycombe, Windsor and others is real statement of intent. This all sets us up nicely for our final home match vs Reading next Saturday.

Panthers - Shine in Festival Rugby:

Inspired by the England Roses and Head Coach Connie’s continued international exposure, the Panthers played in a festival yesterday, winning three matches and losing just the once. The side beat Banbury, A&C & Royal Wootton Bassett and lost 5-7 to Farringdon. This was a great end to the season for the Women’s side and really bodes well for next season.

One Can Trust - Men Clothing Collection:

Next Saturday we have a specific collection for One Can Trust for mens clothings. Any offerings gratefully received by this hugely deserving charity who are in dire need of assistance.

Matt Ratana Foundation:

Yesterday we had the Matt Ratana 7s squad down training at the club. This rugby foundation is a great initiative to remember a special person who was taken from the world far too early in tragic circumstances. Thanks to club sponsor Buzzacott who helped arranged the day and who also happen to sponsor this great foundation.

Junior Matches:

The U14s had a great match vs Maidenhead on Friday night with a good number down watching and enjoying the Spring sunshine. Not sure on the final score but both sides were scoring tries and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

The U13s played their last game of the season, with two teams playing Tring. Both sides were victorious and the U13s finished undefeated in the Herts & MIddx A league and runners up in the Oxford County Cup. A fine season indeed before they head off on tour to Barnstable.

Super Saturday:

Next Saturday is going to be one of the bigger days down the club with the 1st XV playing Belsize Park in the Play Off Quarter Finals, kick off at 2:30pm. Belsize beat Old Priorians on Saturday to progress and will undoubtedly be gunning for us having lost both matches in normal season. Every time we have played Belsize they have been cracking matches, so I’m sure Saturday will be no different.

Then at 3pm the 2nd XV play Reading, a crucial match where we are hoping to confirm promotion. A&C are hot on our heels so we cannot afford any slip ups.

To top the whole day off we will have a BBQ and live music post match. Please come down and support the teams as its clearly a crucial day.

Thanks again for all your support
