Boys U15 (2011) Major 2 Blue - Kill

The first game of the new year proved to be a tough challenge. We conceded an early lucky goal, followed by a second strike from long distance, giving the opposition a 2-0 lead.

We responded well and managed to equalise through two goals from Zsombor. His first came after he reacted quickest to a loose ball that dropped kindly in the box. For his second, the goalkeeper attempted to clear, but he anticipated it perfectly and followed the ball into the empty net.

We dominated the entire second half, controlling possession and creating most of the chances, with Nico and Scott putting in a huge amount of hard work in midfield, winning battles and driving the team forward. The opposition remained dangerous on the counter-attack, and our back line of Jamie, Jack, and Matthew were called upon several times, dealing very well with the pressure and making important clearances.

Unfortunately, the opposition regained the lead with another goal. We continued to push forward and created further chances through Cian, Senan, and Fred.

Eventually, our persistence paid off when Zsombor completed his hat-trick with another fortunate but well-earned goal to make it 3-3.

In the end, we can be pleased with the draw and the lads’ performance.

The team remains unbeaten. The referee showed several yellow cards, although the opposition could arguably have received a few as well.
