Seven-one in the caragh sun ☀️⚽

Caragh 1–7 Naas

The Naas lads continued their impressive run of form with a convincing 7–1 victory over Caragh on a glorious sunny morning. Building on the hard work put in during recent training sessions and matches, the boys produced some excellent football, combining clever movement, confident passing and clinical finishing to secure a thoroughly deserved win.

It was particularly pleasing to see the goals shared around the team, with some fantastic attacking play throughout and Adam stealing the headlines with a superb hat-trick.

First Half – Naas Turn on the Style

10 mins – 0–1 | Charlie

Naas made the breakthrough after just ten minutes when Charlie found himself in a promising position inside the six-yard box. His initial effort was spilled by the Caragh keeper, but Charlie was quickest to react, making no mistake with his second bite of the cherry to give Naas an early lead.

14 mins – 0–2 | Woodie

Just four minutes later, Naas doubled their advantage through an unlikely goalscorer! Woodie, normally more accustomed to keeping goals out at the other end, found himself in exactly the right place at the right time to get his name on the scoresheet. Whether that was the right place for a full-back to be is another question entirely! A rare goal and one he'll no doubt remind us about for weeks to come!

15 mins – 0–3 | Tighe

Barely a minute later came arguably the goal of the game, a wonderful team move that showcased exactly what the lads have been working on in training.

Woodie played the ball from the right into Tighe, who produced a delightful flick around an approaching Caragh defender to release Ryan. Ryan delivered a beautiful cross into the box, where Charlie intelligently laid the ball back into Tighe's path. Having started the move, Tighe arrived to finish it with precision.

A fantastic passage of football, full of movement, awareness and quality. Brilliant stuff from start to finish!

28 mins – 0–4 | Adam

Naas weren't finished there. Another excellent spell of possession ended with Adam collecting the ball some 25 yards from goal. With remarkable composure, he almost passed the ball into the corner of the net, leaving the keeper with little chance.

No need to blast it when you can place it like that! A superb finish and a fitting way to round off an excellent first-half performance.

Half-Time: Caragh 0–4 Naas

The lads headed into the break with a commanding lead, having played some of their best attacking football of the season. The passing, movement and willingness to work for one another were particularly impressive.

Second Half – Adam Takes Centre Stage

40 mins – 0–5 | Adam

Naas picked up where they left off, with another lovely passage of play creating an opportunity for Adam, who duly delivered his second of the morning with another composed finish. The boys were moving the ball confidently and continuing to cause Caragh problems.

55 mins – 0–6 | Ryan

Another excellent team goal followed, this time with Sheasy playing a key role.

Collecting possession on the right, Sheasy threaded a lovely pass through to release Adam. Rather than going for goal himself, Adam showed great awareness to lift his head and pick out Ryan with a perfectly weighted pass. Ryan made no mistake, slotting a low shot past the keeper to complete another excellent move.

A great example of unselfish play and the value of looking up and picking the right option.

57 mins – 1–6 | Caragh

To their credit, Caragh kept battling and were rewarded with a goal from a free kick. A low effort slipped underneath the Naas wall and beat DJ, who saw the ball late.

A reminder that concentration and defensive discipline are just as important when you're comfortably ahead.

65 mins – Cian's Golden Opportunity!

Cian had a glorious chance to add another when the ball fell to him just three yards from goal. Unfortunately, a cruel bobble from the pitch saw his effort sail over the crossbar. One of those moments where the pitch deserves an assist for the opposition!

66 mins – 1–7 | Adam

Any disappointment was quickly forgotten as Adam completed his hat-trick to put the icing on the cake for Naas. Three goals, an assist and another excellent all-round attacking display. A thoroughly deserved hat-trick to cap a fine morning's work!

Full-Time: Caragh 1–7 Naas

Another excellent result for the Naas lads and, more importantly, another performance showing the progress being made week after week.

There were plenty of positives to take away.

The passing combinations, movement off the ball and confidence in possession were all evident, while having multiple players on the scoresheet demonstrates the attacking threat throughout the team.

The third goal in particular was a brilliant example of what these lads can produce when they move the ball quickly, support one another and play with confidence.

There is, however, still work to be done.

One area we need to continue improving is our ability to maintain our intensity right through to the final whistle. When we're well ahead, it's easy to take the foot off the pedal, but the challenge now is to keep driving forward, stay disciplined and finish games as strongly as we start them.

That will be an important part of the lads' development as we face tougher challenges throughout the season.

For now, though, plenty of credit to every player involved. The hard work on the training ground is clearly beginning to pay dividends, and the boys can be very pleased with another well-deserved victory.

Seven goals, a hat-trick for Adam, some wonderful team football and three more points in the bag. A brilliant day at the office in the Caragh sunshine! ☀️⚽👏
