U11 Orange - Vision Phoenix
Leamington Brakes U11 Orange got back to winning ways. A chilly game in Nuneaton, but the lads but in a resilient performance to come away with the victory.
A slow start compounded by a bit of confusion with only 8 players on the pitch resulted in Vision taking an early lead.
The Brakes soon settled and were level on 11 minutes thanks to a brilliant through ball from Fin G and a composed finish from Camello. The lads started to get on top and some good pressing resulted in a loose ball reaching Sam, who with some quick thinking hit a first time shot from distance into the back of the net.
The Brakes extended their lead further with a good run and shot down the right hand side from Camello, thanks to an assist from Sam.
That wasn’t the end of a dramatic first half, that also saw a Fin G goal ruled out, right before half time Vision got back into it following some confusion at the back where we stopped when one of our players went down. The referee allowed play to continue and Vision scored…. An important lesson for the lads to take away: always play to the whistle. 3-2 Brakes at half time.
Into the 2nd half and Vision made the better start and found an equaliser to make it 3-3. Vision we’re unlucky not to take the lead with a shot coming back off the bar. Thanks to a good save from Freddie and some good defensive work, in particular from Lev, we started to get a hold of the game again. Some good work from Camello set up Oleg for a low shot that was struck firmly enough to sneak in off the post and Vision’s keeper, 4-3.
Vision’s keeper made 2 fantastic saves deflecting the ball onto the crossbar and post respectively, which kept them in the game. Ultimately though the lad’s spirit and resilience carried them through to a hard fought win.
Final score 4-3.

Sam, a great performance sitting in protecting the defence, hardly anything got past him. He took up some good positions in midfield, scored a good goal and provided an assist. You are our POTM today, well done mate 🙌
