AWAY vs Kilcock Kick-off 12:00 Meet up 11:15
Kilcock 1–2 Naas Blue
A brilliant team performance today in extremely wet and windy conditions in Kilcock, with Naas Blue coming away with a deserved 2–1 win.
Like our previous two matches, we started strongly and got ourselves in front. Around the 25-minute mark, Freddie produced a fantastic finish, striking a brilliant volley from the edge of the box to give us a 1–0 lead.
Just five minutes later, we doubled our advantage. Scott played a great ball over the Kilcock back four, finding our striker in behind, who made no mistake and put it into the back of the net.
Half-time: Kilcock 0–2 Naas Blue.
In the second half, the message was about keeping our composure and not allowing ourselves to become exposed in midfield. The lads did exactly that.
As in the first half, we worked extremely hard to close down and block shots from outside the box, while our back four were excellent, dealing brilliantly with almost everything Kilcock threw at us.
Kilcock managed to pull one back around the 20-minute mark when we failed to clear a loose ball on the edge of our box, but we didn't panic. We stayed organised, defended as a team and saw the game out.
Full-time: Kilcock 1–2 Naas Blue.
Overall, we dominated the game and restricted Kilcock to very few opportunities. In difficult conditions, the work rate, discipline and composure from the whole team were excellent. A very well-deserved three points.
🏆 Player of the Match – Scott
Scott gets Player of the Match today. Not only did he create our second goal with an excellent ball over the defence, his relentless effort throughout the game was outstanding. He worked tirelessly defensively in midfield while also driving us forward and creating a number of dangerous counter-attacks.
Great team performance. Well done, lads! 🔵⚪
