Boys U11 (2014) Blue - Ballyoulster FC Tournament

The 2014 Naas AFC Blue Team entered a 9v9 tournament today and won the Plate!
This was our first encounter with 9v9, it was a DDSL Division 3/4 tournament.
Our lads played out of their skin. Getting used to new positions, new plays, playing wide and they really made us proud with their attitudes.
In our group games we lost 2:1 to Ballyoulster, should have been a win, we just couldn't get the ball in the goal, but dominated the game.
Drew nil all to a brilliant Rosemount team, again we're told we were the better team, just couldn't score unfortunately.
Then on to a semi final against St. Kevin's which we won, we were starting to play wide again, and it worked for us. 1 nil victory.
Then on to a final against Kilcock.
It was a nail biting head to head, we played great just couldn't get that goal, then finally 10 minutes before the whistle we scored. The boys were elated, but we needed to keep that goal ahead. Kilcock gave it their all, but we proved too strong for them.
We were the plate WINNERS!!
9v9 is definitely going to be a challenge but it definitely suits our boys, the width of the pitch, passing, speed and of course skill. I think we will do ok!
Thank you as always to our amazing parents (and aunts) who are the boys biggest fans! They were just brilliant today. Lots of cheers and our boys definitely deserved it!
Go team!!
