Today’s match at Moat House Leisure Centre was a challenging yet spirited encounter for the Leamington Brakes as they faced off against a good Maine side. Maine showed their prowess with two exceptional players leading their aggressive three-man front line. Despite the pressure, Leamington's defence, led by Oscar, made some crucial saves to maintain the balance early in the game.

The game began intensely, and Maine managed to get on a end of a corner, taking the lead. However, Leamington responded swiftly with a quick counterattack. Fin set up Teddy, resulting in a well-deserved equaliser. Despite the relentless pressure from Maine, who earned another corner, they took advantage just five minutes before the halftime whistle, entering the break with a 2-1 lead.

In the second half, Leamington Brakes showed commendable resilience. Players like Noah and Oscar stepped up, winning crucial battles in the midfield, demonstrating determination and making life difficult for Maine. Although Leamington missed a few opportunities from corners and promising plays, Maine managed to extend their lead further with a well-executed move.

As the match drew to a close, Maine sealed their victory with a precise free-kick, ending the game 4-1 in their favour.

Overall, despite the scoreline, Leamington displayed determination and teamwork more so in the second half. I know ideally we'd like to watch a beautiful game. I'm okay that we made tackles, resulting in fouls. However, It stopped Maine from running through the middle of us.
