U11 Calcio Talent & Select - Selby Town U11

Going into the game we spoke about how we play out and used today’s game as a way to focus on our build up from the Goalkeeper. I thought this was really positive in the first 20 mins and we dominated the first quarter. We scored a good goal through Raphi.

As the game went on the opposition grew into the game and began to press higher, which we struggled to deal with.

2 key things I want the team to focus on after the game is:

1) Continuing to improve the team’s ability to play out from the back. Making better decisions with passing decisions and our player’s movement to receive the ball.

2) We conceded a lot of goals late on, lots of them that could have been avoidable. It’s important as players we don’t accept throwing away goals; we want to always score the next goal.

We will spend Tuesday and Friday continuing to work on playing out from goal kicks and look to do it even better in the next game 👍

MOTM 🏆 Joe Irwin - he was the best today at being brave to play out, which was our focus.

🧤 Special shoutout to Ben, who made some excellent saves early in the game when we were 1-0 and 1-1.
