S&L Juniors U11 Whites - ACE Football Club U11 Juniors
Home match played at Thamesmead School due to some very wet recent weather, pitch was actually OK. Weather stayed overcast but dry.
WHAT A GAME! There's been a few weather cancellations lately, but the last two match performances have to rank as the best team performances yet.
Before the game we encouraged snappy ground passes (due to the slow pitch conditions), maintaining 3 at the back, the need for being goal side and touch tight when defending the box. We saw all this is abundance.
We was always in control. We've never seen such effective through passing and shooting was on-point; including clever side foot goals in 1 on 1 situations.
Decision making was also brilliant from the defenders clearances to when to make attacking run or passing movements. We made few mistakes so looked dangerous throughout.
It was great to see super passing movements. Player to player distances (and making yourself available when off the ball) was also better. There were some nice sequences of passing.
Defence held the line brilliantly. There was a great balance between taking no chances and clearing or playing out from the back. The goals the oppo scored were unfortunate events rather that through good attacking movements. Defensive cover for team mates excellent.
Notable is that I can't really suggest any weak areas of the game(play) today!
There was some off the ball comments with the oppo players (probably from both sides). It's important to remember not to lower ourselves to negative comments. It's all a game and all about fun. Remember if this does happen in future, and you are to blame, the consequence has to be less game time in a following match. No one wants this.. Keep the FUN!
Player of the match was a very difficult decision as everyone played so well. Notable mention goes to Toby (in goal) as he faced every save head-on, was nimble in saves and passing was generally really good. Jack had to win it though. Passing and control from CDM was excellent, when running the wings there was only one winner and 3 assists and 2 goals (however not all about goals in this team!). Well done Jack!
