Boys U10 (2016) Blue - Moone Celtic
Naas U10 Blue 6–2 Moone ⚽️💙
Naas U10 Blue v Moone has become a bit of a classic fixture at this stage. Naas have usually come out on top, but nobody in a Naas shirt was under any illusion that this would be easy. Moone are very much a tough well organised team.
Naas started a little tentatively and spent the first five minutes doing plenty of defending. But after a couple of dangerous counter-attacks, the boys settled into the game, grew in confidence and started to take control.
After 15 minutes, Naas were awarded what can only be described as a slightly soft penalty following a tussle in the box involving Cameron Hubble. Cameron showed nerves of steel, stepped up and coolly slotted it home. 🎯
At half-time, it was still anyone’s game. Moone were battling hard and Naas knew there was plenty of work still to do.
Naas came flying out after the break, with Conor Cronin finishing off a lovely passing move to make it 2–0.
Moone, however, weren't going anywhere. They hit back with a wonderful goal to make it 2–1 and suddenly the game was very much alive again.
But Conor Cronin wasn't finished. He popped up again to finish another chance and restore Naas' two-goal advantage at 3–1.
Moone responded once more, pulling it back to 3–2 and putting the pressure firmly back on Naas.
And then… Naas hit overdrive! 🚀
The boys laid siege to the Moone goal, and a brilliant give-and-go sent Cian Tuite through on goal. With ice running through his veins, Cian kept his cool and calmly slotted the ball low to the goalkeeper's left. 4–2!
That opened the floodgates, with Tadhg Turner and Henry Dolan adding two more excellent goals to complete a 6–2 victory.
The final score might suggest a comfortable Naas win, but the scoreline really doesn't do justice to how competitive this game was. Moone made Naas work extremely hard for it and were right in the contest for long periods.
A fantastic game of football, played in great spirit. 👏
Huge credit to the Moone players for their excellent sportsmanship, attitude and determination throughout.
And to the Naas boys — another brilliant team performance. 💙⚽️
Naas 6–2 Moone. A cracking game, plenty of goals, plenty of drama… ! 😉
