Boys U14 (2013) Major 2 - Prosperous United
Naas U14 M2 got the new season off to a winning start this morning with a well-deserved 2–1 victory over Prosperous United.
Conditions were ideal for football, with a dry, calm morning providing the perfect setting for the first game of the season.
Naas started brightly and took the lead through Oscar Ross getting the reward for some good early play. Prosperous responded and drew level following an avoidable goal from a Naas point of view, leaving the sides tied at 1–1.
Naas didn’t let the setback affect them, however, and continued to try to get the ball down and play football. That approach paid off when Adam Z got his name on the scoresheet, finishing off a well-worked Naas move to restore the lead at 2–1.
There was a huge improvement in the team’s football today, particularly in the willingness to get the ball down, pass it and play through the pitch. The new additions to the squad have also slotted in seamlessly and already look very much part of the group.
Plenty of good performances across the team, with Sheasy, Adam Z and Seaney particularly standing out today.
It’s always nice to start the season with three points, but even more encouraging was the quality of some of the football being played. There’s still plenty to work on, but a very positive start and lots to build on over the coming weeks.
Final Score: Naas U14 M2 2–1 Prosperous United M2

A great way to start the campaign — and hopefully the beginning of a very “Prosperous” season ahead! 😄⚽
