U10 Purple - Bedworth United

Leamington Brakes U10s Purple 3 vs Bedworth United 1
The final game of the season arrived this morning with Bedworth United the visitors to Campion. Brakes were eyeing revenge having lost to the same opponent a few weeks ago. Brakes started slowly and could have conceded within the first 5 minutes. However, they held firm and gradually started to get a grip on the game. A few chances came and went before Artem finally managed to find the back of the net after a goalmouth scramble. It was back and forth for the rest of the first half with chances at both ends but it was Brakes who went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
The coaches gave their words of wisdom and it certainly seemed to have an impact with Brakes exerting increasing dominance and they were rewarded when Sam and Artem combined with Edward who calmly slotted home to make it 2-0. Bedworth continued to push forward and finally beat stand-in keeper and Player of the Match Beau to make it 2-1. However, Brakes soon restored their 2 goal advantage when Sam raced through and beat the Bedworth keeper.
More chances followed but none were converted and the game ended in a comfortable 3-1 win for Brakes.
The boys have had an amazing season having only lost 3 games in the entire campaign. They can now look forward to moving up to 9 aside and almost certainly a season in Tier 1.
