Leamington Juniors v Bedworth Blazers

In today's match against Bedworth Blazers, Leamington Brakes demonstrated a commendable performance, showing no signs of game rust despite a short break from playing due to weather. Leamington welcomed two new talents, Noah and Benji, whose debut brought fresh energy to the team.

The game started with Leamington asserting dominance in the midfield early on. Just five minutes into the first half, Teddy made an impact by skillfully turning on the half turn and smashing the ball into the bottom corner, putting Leamington ahead. Although Bedworth tried to respond immediately, solid defence ensured any threats were managed efficiently by Bleidy. Continuing their strong play, Leamington doubled their lead when Oscar, finding space, fired a distant shot into the goal.

Going into halftime, the score remained 2-0 in Leamington's favour. With momentum on there side second Leamington maintain their intensity, with Fin P pouncing on a chance in the box to make it 3-0. Seb added to the tally, intercepting a goalkeeper pass and scoring to bring the score to 4-0. Bedworth was allowed a power play with an extra player, but Leamington’s defence, anchored by Benji’s calm leadership in goal, kept them largely in check.

Leamington continued to press forward and was awarded a penalty after Fin G was fouled in the box. Fin G coolly converted, extending the lead to 5-0. Bedworth managed to pull a goal back, scoring off a rebound following a good save by Benji, and earned a late penalty to end the match at 5-2. As the contest moved to penalties, Benji stood out again, saving three shots to secure the team’s overall success.
