Senior Team - Athersley Rec

The first team made it 3 wins from the last 3 games with their best performance of the season. Athersley are a solid mid table team and rarely lose by more than a goal or two… until they came up against us that was.

Atherselys long ball style was not a match for Weaves and Jonesy in defence as they dealt with that pretty much all game long. Despite going a goal behind due to some indecision in our build up play and it being punished well by the away team… from that moment on it was one way traffic. We played some excellent football and scored some superb goals.

The win sees us move into the top 10 with 2 games in had on the 3rd place team and only being 6 points behind them. The buzz around the group is on the up and it’s gonna take a good team to beat them from now on.
