Girls U11 (2014) - Suncroft

An early start for our U11 girls in Naas Sports Centre this morning against a very strong Suncroft side. In a very entertaining and end to end 1st half without a goal Naas with a lot of our U10 filling in Naas showed great heart and commitment.
The 2nd half was more of the same with Suncroft finally breaking the deadock after a scramble in the box from a corner. Naas never stopped pressing for an equaliser and hit the woodwork and brought a couple of fantastic save from the Suncroft goalkeeper. With girls away and younger girls stepping up we couldn't be prouder of the girls today.
Well done girls ⚽⚽⚽⚽.
Players:
Gk. Lauren O'Reilly:
Made a string of fantastic saves and continues to improve every week. Her recent performances for both our 11 & 12 teams has led to a well deserved call up to KDUL inter league team
Julia Krol:
Our captain for the day. Julia led the team and was a rock at the back for the whole game. As one of our U11 girls she led by example to our younger girls.
Ava Haberlin:
Come up from our U10 to help today and excelled at the back. Moved into midfield as we chased an equaliser. Ava is full of commitment and determination and continues to improve this season.
Ava Hartigan:
Our other Ava had another stormer both in midfield and defense. After a hat trick mid week for the U10 she dropped back today to help the girls. Always shows up and always performs
Aoibhann McNally:
The birthday girls was unbelievably unlucky not to score at least one birthday goal. Hitting the post and crossbar in a performance full of energy and class on the wing. Another one of our KDUL girls with a bright future.... Happy Birthday Aoibhann.
Lucia Kavanagh:
Lucia came back into the team and was missed. Her determination and passing added so much to the team, ran herself into the ground both in midfield and striker. It's great to have her back.
Hazel Barnes:
Another U10 girl who came in to help out the team today. Broke up the play in midfield and always picked the right pass. We don't complain about refs but definitely should have had a penalty in the 1st half.
Eilish Healy:
Eilish after a brilliant performance for our U10 in mid week brought the same energy today. Another girl who always shows up and never lets you down. One of our most improved players this year.
Emily Sheridan:
Emily playing two years above her age showed her class with a number of incredible runs show great strength and skills against girls much bigger then her. She made one amazing run down the left wing and was so unlucky to see her shot hit the woodwork. A star of the future.
