Match Report: Naas U12 Prem Girls vs Sallins
Another great game between the 1st and 2nd in the league. Both sets of girls brought the best out of each other in another classic encounter.
1st Half - Sallins started the brighter of the teams playing against the wind conditions. Lauren produced some excellent early stops before Sallins scrambled home an early goal to go 1-0 up. Naas began to play their way into the game with Alex getting forward down the left and setting up some chances. Kate as usual making things happen by bringing the wingers into play with Rosie and Evie.
Lauren up front had a couple of half chances putting pressure in Newbridge half. Naas kept the Sallins attack relatively quiet with Faye having another excellent game marking Sallins's main player.
Amelia had an excellent performance right back and didn't look out of place in both defending and getting forward in attack. Naas were rewarded for their efforts with a brillant play from Kate to slot home 1-1.
2nd Half - Naas started the brighter this time around and controlled a good bit of the game. Some great run forwards from Alex giving Evie an excellent through ball to have a great strike that fizzed past the Sallins keeper crossbar.
Naas had another chance Amelia finding Alanna in the box from corner who was so unlucky not to finish. Sallins countered and got a goal against the run of play 2-1 Sallins.
Despite awful conditions Naas girls had further chances with excellent work from Sara. Grace at right back also had some fine crosses in box that Sallins defence had to scramble away. Lauren in goals produced excellent saves to make sure Naas kept in the game. Sallins had another chance that they dispatch this time around to close out the game.3-1
Despite the result, brillant performance from the girl's who deserved something from this game. They play the same side in the next round of the cup and if they put in the same effort in again they will definitely come away with something.Plenty of football left to play in the next few weeks
