U10 Calcio Talent & Select - Pontefract Collieries JPL U10

Excellent performance from the boys today, played with conviction and physicality to beat a very good Pontefract Collieries 10-7.

The first period saw the team work hard to understand new roles and implement new ideas, it is always a tough task to settle into playing with some new team mates and for a new manager. Second period really epitomised what I'd like this team to be know for, physical play and a confidence to play out from the back, protecting possession. Unsurprisingly as a result we kept Pontefract extremely quiet, limiting them to only a couple of chances during this 20 minute period. With some awesome combination play, individual brilliance and clinical finishing we were able to rack up another off-season win.

At the end of the game I gave Freddie MoM for a particularly hard working performance. Importantly I felt he encouraged and supported team mates both verbally and with in-game actions.

n.b. - When the league season begins I will be recording goal involvement statistics and will update these on sport member on a weekly basis for you to keep track of. Statistics I track are: Games Played, Goals, Assists & MoM.
