Razor FC Youth u13 - Avon League - Portishead
Back to league action this week after the euphoria of last week and a second league fixture of the season against Portishead. We knew from the first game that it would be tough game and a very physical battle. The boys had to be on it man for man right from the first whistle. I think they did that superbly particularly in the defensive areas with Owen, Teddy and Ralphy having outstanding games.
A shorter pitch meant we had to find a different way of winning today with our usual direct counter attacking football and balls over the top not being so effective. More balls were played around and through the portishead defence and with Rheon and TJ alternating up front we had two good link up players bringing the others into play. The impact of which was seen with TJ being involved in all 3 goals (1G, 2A). Elijah and Fin J also got on the score sheet.
On the end we ran out 3-1 winners but it wasn't easy and the boys were made to work for it. Thoroughly deserved though and we remain unbeaten.
My Man of the match today was Owen WW, outstanding at the back, broke up play, strong in the tackle and good decision making.
Well done all.
