Razor FC Youth u13 - Norton League - AEK Boko

From the kick off, we started well and early on had a few good opportunities to take the lead. Boko were a physical team from the start and the boys were finding that out in their individual battles. They could have easily slipped into silly retaliation or been intimidated, but they did neither. We matched them in physicality and our determination for the ball and it was against the run of play that we conceded first, with a scrappy goal. Again the boys showed their resilience and did not let their heads go down. Boko turned up the pressured bouyed from their goal. Boko had their opportunities but a great performance from Parker in goal and our grit and determination to not concede took us to half time only 1 nil down but confident that we could get ourselves back in it.

Boko started the second half more positively and with a larger squad than ours were able to bring on fresh legs more often. We soaked up an onslaught of pressure but again with Parker dominating his box, clearing his back lines well and some last ditch defending we were holding them at bay. Boko pushed further up the field which left them vulnerable to the break. Which we capitalised on with huge kick over the top, which Elijah collected and hit the back of the net with a superb finish. It was our turn to gain in confidence and encouraged by goal. Although the majority of the second half we were under pressure, every last player put in a tremendous shift, didn't get involved with little niggles from the opposition and concentrated on the game. A very mature performance and a good result. You should be proud boys!
