Boys U15 (2011) Premier - Sallins

A very stop/start match due to an overly fussy ref and windy conditions
Naas took some time to settle despite Dylan Hynes carrying an early threat. Naas conceded to what was the only real scoring opportunity created by Sallins after 20 minutes
Gradually as the team played with more width things started improving. Sean Cooke was very unlucky to hit the post after Conor Gillespie held off a Sallins defender to set up the chance
Equaliser came in last play of the first half from a brilliantly flighted corner from Roddy Cummins which was clinically finished by Dylan Hynes
Winning goal came early in the 2nd half after good link up play in attack with Dylan Hynes playing a good pass to Conor Gillespie who laid the ball of for Jamie Byrnes to score what proved to the winner with a nice left footed finish
Naas dictated the remainder of the match but could not find a third goal. Dara O’Shea was denied a very clear penalty when straight through on goal
The team can play with more composure and get their known passing game going but they rolled up the sleeves to dig out an important 3 points to start the season on a positive note
Best for Naas today were
Jamie Byrnes
Henry Walsh
Roddy Cummins
