*Naas Thrash Clara 7-1 in SFAI Cup Thriller*

Third time of asking and Naas finally got their SFAI Cup campaign underway with a resounding 7-1 victory over Clara at home. The home team dominated from the off, applying relentless pressure that Clara struggled to contain.

Liam broke the deadlock with a composed finish after latching onto a quality through ball, doubling Naas' lead shortly after with a clinical second. The Naas back four, marshaled by Conor, Michal, and Noah, looked impenetrable, with Hayden in goal assured and in control. Daragh at right back had a proper ding dong with Clara’s star player, there was only going to be one winner, back in the pocket you go!

The midfield quartet of Jake, Josh, Oscar, and Mark kept the tempo high with box-to-box performances, while Dan delivered a season-best display on the right wing. Ben's creative playmaking caused havoc, scoring two goals in quick succession, the second a sublime free kick.

Liam completed a first half hat-trick with a spectacular 25-yard free kick, and Ben followed suit with his own hat-trick late on. Clara scored a consolation penalty before Daragh added a trademark goal from the edge of the box.

The win sets up a mouth-watering home tie against Arklow in the next round.
