LCSYFL U14s SL 2023/24 Team - Sporting

A really positive showing from the boys today!!! Not the result we hoped for but players gave their everything.

Final score was 4-1, however there were so many positives to take out from the match. 

First Half: We started the game well, first 15 mins. were back and forth from both the sides, we got one chance early in the game but we could not convert it in a goal. Around 15 mins., opponent got a chance and they scored the first goal of the match. After that goal we were a bit sloopy and made some mistakes. We never gave up and kept our head up and it paid off. A great dribble by Alfonso down the left, then passing the ball to Arb for a shot, it got saved by their keep but he could not keep the ball, and lucas was there to send the ball into the net for a goal. First half score:3-1.

Second half: We played really good football in the second half. However, the opponent scored a goal in the 5th min of the second half, not the start we were expecting. But player reacted really really well after that and gave everything. We got at least 4-5 chances in the second half which could have been a goal. We were  playing in the opponent's half for most of the time in the second half, and should have scored more goals than the opponent. Second half score: 1-0.

Conclusion: Tactically players were good as we were moving together as a team. Players were in good positions to receive the ball, while showing good on and off the ball movement. Players kept their head up despite the result and were positive throughout the match. However, we need to work more on our technical abilities and decision making. We will be focusing on these element in our next training session. 

Overall, A really positive match from the team, and we keep going !!!
