Girls U13-U14 (2011 2012) - Kilcock
The U14 Shield Final delivered an exciting and hard-fought contest as Naas and Kilcock battled all the way to penalties in a tense encounter.
First Half
Both teams started brightly, but Naas carved out the better chances in the opening 15 minutes. Ellie had the ball in the net early, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside. Amy caused real problems down the wing, delivering several dangerous crosses that were just inches from being finished.
Kilcock grew into the game with chances of their own, but the Naas back line stood strong and dealt with every threat.
Second Half
The second half mirrored the first—tight, competitive, and full of energy. Caoimhe saw plenty of the ball in midfield, showing excellent footwork and control. Millie and Marie worked tirelessly to command the centre despite strong Kilcock pressure.
Perry produced a number of outstanding saves to keep Naas in the game, marking herself as one of the standout performers of the day.
Naas pushed hard for a breakthrough, but despite everyone giving absolutely everything, normal time ended 0–0.
Extra Time
With fatigue setting in, both sides continued to chase the decisive goal. Naas came close on several occasions, while Kilcock also threatened at the other end. Neither team could break the deadlock, and the final went to penalties.
Penalties
In a tense shoot-out, Naas unfortunately fell short, losing 4–2. Despite the result, every player can be incredibly proud of their performance, spirit, and determination in reaching their first final. A brilliant effort from the entire squad—onwards and upwards for this talented group.
