Another really positive performance from the boys yesterday and a great test against a very well-organised opposition!

What pleased me most was the patience and composure the boys showed in possession, particularly when transitioning from defence into attack.

This was a massive improvement from last week, where at times we looked to rush things and force the ball forward. Yesterday, we showed much more control and confidence when moving the ball, with some excellent passages of play building from defence, through midfield and into attack.

Against an organised opposition, it was great to see the boys being patient, recognising spaces and making better decisions on when to play forward rather than rushing possession.

The goals and chances we created came in different ways, from some excellent team play through the thirds to moments of individual brilliance, with players showing confidence and bravery to beat their opponents in 1v1 situations.

This was particularly pleasing as these are areas we’ve been working on consistently in training over the last five weeks.

Seeing the boys take what they’ve learned in training and apply it during matches is a massive positive for their development.

Overall, another really encouraging performance with clear improvements in our decision-making, movement of the ball and confidence in possession. Still plenty to work on, but the progress we’re making week by week is brilliant to see!
