U13 Blacks 26/27 - Sheffield City FC
A tough scoreline in the end.
The boys put in a disciplined, high-energy performance across the first two quarters, competing brilliantly to keep a strong Sheffield City side goalless for the first 40 minutes. A special mention goes to our new goalkeeper, Josef, who showed great promise—making some top saves and showing real composure playing out from the back to keep us level through those first two quarters.
The game turned in the second half. Similar to recent matches, our main hurdle came during the transition phase—turning the ball over too quickly after winning it back and leaving ourselves exposed on the counter. Defending set pieces also proved challenging, with four of their goals coming from corners.
Holding a quality opponent goalless for the first half shows what this group is capable of when we are locked in.
