Razor FC Youth u13 - Norton League - Bath Athletico
The previous time we played Bath Athletico, the match was a high scoring, entertaining game and this one wasn't any different. Razor were on the attack from the first whistle and it wasn't long before we were one nil up from a great finish from our stand-in forward Ollie Broad (Goal of the season? To early to tell, but points for asking Ollie). Nobody likes to play out of position and I don't like asking but unfortunately it was necessary for this game and I really appreciate every last one of the players putting in 100% effort even though it may not have been their preferred position they were playing in.
Bath always play a high line and we capitalised on it. Although our goals were coming from long balls, there were some encouraging link-up plays from our wide back to the the wide forwards and into the box. Although Bath pulled a goal back, Razor reached half time being in the lead.
The second half was more of the same from Razor with creating plenty of chances and scoring but also conceding; Bath were always close to clawing it back. With that said, every time Bath seemed to be about to turn it around we didn't panic, we increased our work rate and didn't lose the lead at any point. This above all else showed the character of the boys. It could have easily panicked the team into conceding more than we did but every time we upped the effort and worked our way back into it. Special thanks to Teddy Hirst-Paton and Henry Ridewood for stepping in at the last minute to help us out and special mention for an excellent debut from Thomas Seymour.
