U12 Orange - Ambleside
The Brakes started well and matched up well against the hosts. In a closely fought first half there were few chances for both sides and it looked like it would be 0-0 at halftime. However a break down the right hand side from Ambleside and some confusion caused by a 2nd ball on the pitch resulted in a goal just before half time.
The lads battled really hard in the 2nd half, some outstanding defending from Bledi who made repeated covering tackles and outstanding goalkeeping from William kept us in the game.
The Brakes came more into the game and carried more threat down the wings. Their efforts paid off thanks to some quick thinking down the left hand side with a throw in from Harry bouncing nicely for Noah who bundled the ball into the net with sheer determination to level the game. This gave the lads renewed confidence but they were unable to get their noses in front and fell behind again when Ambleside got in behind our defence to slot in what turned out to be the winner. M
2-1 final score.
Special mentions:
William had another very good game, cementing his position as the Brakes new number 1. đź‘Š
Finlay Paget worked his socks off as always and looked dangerous with some runs down the channels and looked good in the number 10 role.🙌
Noah had another strong game and his determination to get into the box repeatedly resulted in the equalising goal, well done you deserve the values trophy today đź‘Ź
Player of the match was Bledi, who was outstanding in defence today, he made a number of recovering tackles and often got us out of danger and kept us in the game. đź’Ş
We showed a lot of heart and togetherness today and us coaches were proud of the lads. The way they fought back into the game was impressive and I thought we were unlucky not to get a point.
