PA Sports Hurricanes 3 v 4 Stockton U11 Lightning

We had the whole squad available for the first time this season, for our match at the Seva school, Coventry this morning, and teamwork ultimately rewarded the boys with a win.

The game was a little disjointed and scrappy, PA Sports employing an unorthodox strategy which very often broke up our play and allowed them to threaten our goal.

It wasn’t the best quality football we’ll see this season, but there would have been more goals for both teams, if not for strong defences and goalkeeper saves.

For me Stockton always looked the better footballing side, that doesn’t always mean you will win, but the lads kept their heads up, dug in to compete and conquer the physical and mental battle. Their discipline was impressive today which influenced the awards, we’ve worked on support and movement in training which was applied. The whole team had another good day, but two of them really stepped up their game.

PPOTM Fin Scott - Great blocks and positioning, work effort and some good passes to launch attacks

CPOTM - Marley - again top work rate, good movement both forward and defensive. A show of footwork skill too.
