Boys U12's Thunder - GNP Sports Jaguars
Full Match Report
With only eight players available – and the eighth arriving just before kick-off – Stockton knew this would be a real test of discipline and teamwork. The plan was clear: stay compact, defend as a unit, and look to use the ball smartly when in possession.
From the first whistle, that structure was evident. Frederick, Jack, and Ethan formed a resolute backline, while William provided a calm and reliable presence in goal. GNP enjoyed more possession, but Stockton’s shape frustrated them, limiting clear chances. When Stockton went forward, Mason, Zac, and Oliver combined neatly, looking to release Reuben, who worked tirelessly up front.
After 26 minutes, GNP finally broke the deadlock with a powerful strike that found the top corner. Despite the setback, Stockton remained organised and disciplined, reaching half time just a goal behind after an impressive defensive display.
The second half continued in similar fashion. With energy levels dropping, Frederick moved into goal to keep the outfield fresh. The defence continued to hold firm until the 36th minute when GNP scrambled home a second.
Thunder refused to give in and almost found a deserved goal when Reuben broke through one-on-one, only to be denied by an excellent save from the goalkeeper. As the game entered its final stages, GNP added a third to seal the win, but Stockton could be immensely proud of their effort and spirit.
Although the result didn’t go their way, this was one of the team’s most disciplined performances of the season. Every player contributed, showing real commitment and resilience in difficult circumstances.
