Rising Hope Cobras (Year 8 Sept 2023) - Mawsley Thunderkicks

This was always going to be a good game against our friends from Mawsley. 

It certainly loved up to it with both teams missing a number of chances. 

Game started with both teams having 8 players due to Mawsley having a player turn up late leaving Cobras with 4 subs. 

Mawsley took an early lead after a scrappy first ten minutes. Cobras equalising while the teams were 8v7 due to Mawsley player getting a ball in the face. Joshua providing some neat footwork to poke into the far corner. 

Not long after Nathan picked up the ball and like the bull he is charged right down the middle of 3 players (easier to pass to wing but didn't lol) before stabbing a low shot passed the keeper. 

9v9 resumed just before half time and both teams provided some entertaining play. 

2nd half started brightly for Cobras but came to nothing. Mawsley had the better chances as the half wore on until 5 minutes from the end when Cobras created the best chance of the half but for them to put over the bar from close range. 

Nails were biten and hearts were pumping from the parents but Corbras managed to see out the historic win and take them to 3 wins from 6. More wins in a season  than ever before. More goals scored than ever before. Its been a great six games so far.
