Leeds UFCA U10 - FSC Red
UFCA U10s Lost 6-4 vs FSC Red
Tough one for us today, one of those games we probably thought would never get away from us
Started off absolutely brilliantly with some fantastic football on display, converting around 70% of our chances and dominating large periods of the game at 4-2
However, all credit to the opposition, who never stopped showing aggressive intensity, work rate and desire to get themselves back into the game.
A big learning curve for the lads, as I mentioned to them that being comfortably on top and switching off is never a good mix, especially against teams who don’t stop competing. In fairness the boys continued to play some good football but struggled defensively, with 3-4 goals being more gifted than major mistakes in our overall play.
Overall, the performance was good, particularly in possession, but we needed to show a lot more desire and match the opposition’s physicality and intensity. They had one individual standout player, but as a team their biggest strengths were their work rate and aggression, which we struggled to match as the game went on.
One to learn from for the boys, and it’s good we experience tests like this and see how we react. Plenty of positives in the phases of football we played that deserve praise, but ultimately a reminder that we need to compete and stay switched on from start to finish
