Leeds UFCA U11 - FSC Blacks

What a game for the U11s yesterday as we came away with a hard-fought 5-4 victory against FSC.

From the first whistle, the boys showed great energy, confidence and a real desire to play football. We created chances, moved the ball well and were rewarded with goals for our efforts. We found ourselves 5-2 up going into the final third and at that point we looked in control of the game.

The final third, however, certainly tested us. FSC pushed hard and managed to bring the score back to 5-4, putting us under a lot of pressure. From a manager’s perspective, this is where the boys showed a different side to their game. Rather than giving up, they battled, defended together and worked extremely hard to see the game out.

There are definitely things we can learn from the final quarter, particularly around managing the game when we have a lead and staying composed under pressure. These are valuable experiences for the players and will only help them develop.

Most importantly, the boys showed teamwork, character and resilience to get over the line and secure the win.

A massive well done to every player today. Winning 5-4 in a game like that will give the boys plenty of confidence, but more importantly, it gives us plenty to work on going forward.
