Girls U13's - Coundon Cockerils
it Was fantastic to get a game in this morning, after missing so much football lately.
The girls must have enjoyed it too, as they took there revenge on Coundon. Last time out, we were unlucky to lose 2-1 at home, but they were not having it today.
An end to end game finished with a deserved win for our girls. After going into half time one nil down, the girls came out strong, and soon equalised in the 34th minute. It was a fine finish from Alyssia that levelled the scores., after a period of dominance . We really kicked on after the equaliser, and the girls looked dangerous on the break. Deanna cleared up each time that Coundon broke through, keeping their strikers at bay, backed up by Robyn in goal and her fellow defenders. The midfield stood up strong and fought for the cause , winning their individual battles, and the strikers chased hard, defending from the front.
The deadlock was broken in the 55th minute, when a through ball found Sophie free, who skipped past a defender and found the back of the net. The parents enjoyed it on the sidelines, almost cheering as loud as me ! It was a thoroughly deserved win, and our girls gave everything to earn it.
Player of the match went to Deanna, who was an absolute beast at the heart of defence, winning everything.
Parents player went to Freya, who left countless opponents in a twist with her skills.
Brilliant morning all round, and incredibly proud of them all today.
