S&L Juniors U11 Whites - ACE Football Club U11 Juniors

Home match on a sunny lunchtime KO. Last league match of the season and a well fought 3-7 loss.

Before the match we spoke about playing as we did last week, pressing the ball and good passing from defence.

Unfortunately they had some big and skillful players in midfield and we seemed to loose the battle here in the first half.

Defensive balls out were often down the middle and intercepted, meaning in the 1st half we had lots of defending to do and they scored a few as a result.

In loose/ high kicked balls we stood off a bit today and let the oppo take possession. Last week we were fighting for every ball.

When they then did break through on us there were big gaps between attack and defensive with us often overloaded.

I really think we struggle to believe we can come back from a loosing position and that drop in effort means it's very hard to come back. We're good enough to win from any score. We've got to keep believing!

Second half was much, much better. Overall score in this half was 2-2, and we missed a few good chances (maybe 3). If a few of these had gone in the comeback may have been very much on!

There were so many good goals from both sides... The first four were all bangers!

There were a few nominees for Player of the Match, but Erick really stood out today. What a goal straight from a corner and he put in an excellent shift in CAM - always pressing the ball. Well done!
