Well… that was certainly a derby! 😂

A proper competitive game tonight with tackles flying in, players battling for every ball and enough referee decisions to keep the parents entertained on the sidelines! 🤣

The Lions started a little slowly and found themselves with a mountain to climb, but to their credit, they never gave up. As the game went on, the boys really grew into it and started putting some serious pressure on the Tigers.

We also had a few referee decisions that were… interesting. Let’s just say there were moments when even the coaches needed a quick Google search to check the rules! 😂

Despite the scoreline, the Lions fought bravely and showed some real character. Unfortunately, once they found their rhythm, the clock decided to become our biggest opponent and the comeback came just a little too late.

Final score: Tigers 5–3 Lions

A tough loss, but plenty of positives to take away. The boys kept battling, kept believing and never gave up — exactly what you want to see.

Now if only we could get the referee decisions reviewed by VAR… although knowing our luck, VAR would probably be against us too! 😂🦁
