Naas AFC v Castle Villa — One to Watch! ⚽🔥

Naas AFC v Castle Villa has become a bit of a fixture to watch, with these games rarely failing to serve up a treat for the spectators.

And this one certainly didn’t disappoint!

Naas knew Castle Villa would be well up for this one after Naas picked up a good win in Castledermot last time out. Revenge was definitely on the menu for Castle Villa — and they weren’t coming along just for the sandwiches! 😄

The game started cautiously, with Naas seeing plenty of the ball while Castle Villa defended resolutely and looked dangerous on the break.

Eventually, Naas found the breakthrough with a superb left-footed finish from Jake Lopez to make it 1-0 to Naas.

And Naas didn’t hang around before doubling their advantage. Callum Higgins got himself on the scoresheet to make it 2-0.

Castle Villa weren’t about to let the game run away from them, though, and they pulled one back just before half-time.

2-1 at the break.

Whatever was said in the Castle Villa dressing room at half-time clearly worked — because they came flying out of the traps and soon found the equaliser.

2-2!

Ten minutes into the second half, Naas decided enough was enough and reasserted themselves, taking the game to Castle Villa.

Their pressure paid off, with Jake Lopez producing another great finish to grab his second of the day and put Naas back in front.

3-2 to Naas.

But Castle Villa weren’t finished either. They dug deep and levelled the game once again.

3-3!

At this stage, a draw might have looked like a very tempting escape route for Castle Villa.

Unfortunately for them,

Naas had other ideas!

Enter Henry Dolan.

Henry dispossessed the Castle Villa midfielder on the left wing, then proceeded to dribble past a couple of players before unleashing a superb low drive into the bottom-right corner of the Castle Villa goal.

Cue the celebrations! 🙌

What a game!

A brilliant, entertaining contest from start to finish, with both sides contributing to a match that had everything — goals, comebacks, drama and, thankfully, no shortage of excitement for the spectators.

Fair play to Castle Villa for their part in a cracking game, and well done to Naas for holding their nerve and coming out on top in a proper seven-goal thriller.
