U12 Orange - Coventrians U12 Phoenix

Leamington Brakes started the game strongly and looked threatening right from the kick off.

We soon took the lead when Harry made a good run and cross into the box which fell to Finlay who controlled the ball and curled in a lovely finish with the outside of his right foot. Finlay’s repeated runs down the right troubled the Coventrian’s defence, which resulted in a corner that Sam expertly curled into the net to extend the lead. Harry continued to make dangerous runs down the left wing and deservedly grabbed a goal, following up his own shot that had been saved by the keeper to make it 3-0 at the break.

Into the 2nd half and the Brakes continued to dominate. A lovely lofted pass from Charlie picked out Finlay who ran through and scored with a composed finish. The goals kept coming and a lovely moment arrived for Bledi, scoring his first goal for the team with a skilful run and powerful finish. Teddy added 2 goals late on with nice finishes and the match was nearly capped off with a great goal from Harry’s run and cross, just missing Finlay who would have grabbed a hat trick.

7-0 full time. A fantastic team performance, with lots of passing and good play down both wings. We were defensively strong and it was great to get another clean sheet.

Special mentions:

Teddy, who scored 2 goals towards the end of the match with nice finishes.

Moment of the match came when Bledi scored his first goal for the team.

Harry for his brilliant runs and crossing down the left wing, grabbing a deserved goal as well.

Seb was superb in midfield today and some of the passing between him and the forward players was outstanding. He battled hard in the 2nd half winning most of his challenges, he deserves our values trophy this week.

POTM goes to Finlay for a brilliant performance. He was a constant threat down the right wing with repeated runs and crosses, he grabbed 2 brilliant goals and was unlucky not to finish with a hat trick 🙌
