U11 Orange - Coventrians
Hi everyone,
What a match that was until the final whistle! Leamington Juniors faced Coventrians at Holbrook Park. Coming into the game with an excellent run in the cup and three matches unbeaten, Leamington Juniors showed up, ready to play. Coventrians, starting short with only seven players, saw Leamington Juniors begin the game with eight players as a gesture of fairness. Yet, this didn't make the match any less of a battle.
In the first half, Leamington Juniors created some great chances. However, Coventrians' keeper was on top form, making crucial saves against shots from Fin P and Oscar and Oleg. Although Leamington applied significant pressure, Coventrians held strong, and the first half ended 0-0.
In the second half, Leamington continued to press forward in search of the first goal. Ten minutes in, a handball in the box led to a penalty, which Fin G successfully converted. Pushing hard for a second, Camello hit the bar, and Teddy also had an attempt. With just five minutes to go, Coventrians managed to equalise, but Leamington Juniors didn't give up Harry battled hard in midfield winning ground duels. In a thrilling last corner of the game, Camello poked the ball into the back of the net, sealing a 2-1 victory for the Brakes.
Leamington won the penalty shoot out 5-2, with some good saves from Oscar and Teddy.
Congratulations to all the lads for their determination until the final whistle.👏
