S&L Juniors U11 Whites - Goldsworth Park Rangers Youth U11 Grizzl

Away match against very friendly and competitive opposition on grass pitch in the sunshine. We've always played well against these, but they have won the two games.

What a turnaround in result and 5-1 win!

Overall the pressure on the ball was excellent, passing from GK through the team miles better and we were intercepting most rather than missing. This led to so much more control of the game and more chances to show our super skills. Energy levels and team play appeared so much better.

Passing was great. There was so much good interchange all over the pitch. The dribbles then were Messi-like. Our confidence was up, we went ahead and never looked second best.

Shooting was a good mix of long and short. We were on target often. Goldsworth unfortunately had a bad shooting day for the possession they had. Dexter was excellent and protected his goal.

Just one small observation. If the ball is wide, rather than being central (in CAM and ST mainly) we could push to align better with this wider channel. This gives the wide players more options.

I reckon this was the best performance we may have had as a team. Let's carry on with this enthusiasm!

Player of the match was super hard as it could have gone to everyone in the team. Notable mentions to Jack for skilled runs and 3 goals. Prayagh for dominance in CB role. Legrand for tackles and play from CAM. Overall this was given to Preston as I felt he played the game exactly as we want. Used his body to block players in 50:50s. He held possession so well (which I believe added to our dominance) and then looked dangerous in dribbles and passing moves.

Well done all, brilliant result and I couldn't be happier.
