Away v Port of Bristol

Another pre-season run out for the boys today, this time against Division 2 Port of Bristol(POB). We took a strong squad and players lined up in what i perceive to be their strongest positions and for the first half at least the boys put on a really good performance, matching POB all over the pitch, positionally strong and dedicated and some good football being played. Our goal came in the first minute from a 'cross' from T'maine lobbing the goalie! To be honest i don't really think we looked like conceding but POB got a similarly fortunate goal after a good save from Sam rebounded in the net off Teddy. Half time was 1-1 and i feel like we were slightly the better team.

After the break tiredness and a couple of injuries meant a few more subs than intended and the bigger stronger POB started to take control a bit, however it has to be said that we played into their hands a bit with some unforced errors being made resulting in the POB taking a 4-1 lead. After going down a few goals the boys got a second wind of energy and were unlucky not to make the scoreline look a bit more respectable.

i don't think it was a 4-1 game though and the boys showed they are more than a match for the higher division teams and considering we start the season in Division 4, i think we will be in for a good season ahead.
