U10 Turquoise - Stoke Mandeville

Today the U10 Turquoise made the long away trip to play Stoke Mandeville.

 From the moment we kicked off the girls passed the ball really well. Thea on the left and Zuzanna on the right.

Both wingers ran their socks off.

Beating their markers and running the line to put crosses into the box or playing superb diagonal balls into Lily in cm (Chloe for 1 quarter) or Ella the striker. 

We didn’t have to wait long to be rewarded.

Lola made a great driving run out from defence to feed the ball through to Thea. 

With her quick feet she laid the ball off to the right of the defender and scored with a great finish. 

Second quarter we continued the same as the first creating lots of great passages of play. Unfortunately Jessica our gk for the day had to go off injured for a quarter after getting a knock to the hip. Zuzanna stepped up to go in goal. 

Stoke managed to counter attack a few times but Mia and Lola dealt with the pressure well. 

Mia put in a great tackle to win the ball back on the corner of our area. With a great pass up the wing she picked out Chloe who flicked the ball on to find Ella who slotted home the second. 

Quarter 3 

Stoke were back in the game and managed to pull back a couple of goals.

We came close to regaining the lead with Zuzanna striking the post.

Jessica, Mia and Lola at the back were playing out well and were always looking to feed the ball out wide to the wingers. 

Quarter 4 

The girls all looked up for the battle today and me and Paris knew they weren’t finished. 

Lola again made another great driving run all the way from defence up the right wing and put a great cross into the box unfortunately their defence dealt with it well. 

Stokes keeper was having to pull off save after save. 

Lily, Zuzanna and Thea managed to combine well across the middle. The ball fell for Ella who then played a great one touch pass back in for Lily to have a shot which rattled the Stoke team’s post. 

Jessica was called into action and dealt with stokes attack well. 

With another great run up the wing from Thea she fed the ball in for Lily. With a quick glance she spotted Ella who stepped away from the defender marking her and scored the winner with a great finish. 

Potm today was a hard call as every girl put a real shift in with most playing the full 50 minutes.

Thea with great passing, skill and composure on the ball. 

Ella-Louise, great positioning up front today and whenever receiving the ball with her back to goal always looking to lay the ball off for the on running midfielders to shoot. 

Great team performance and a pleasure to watch.
